AEO is a status granted to reliable operators who are compliant with security and safety standards and who can be considered "secure" traders.  Benefits include fast-tracked consignment, streamlined declarations, and mutual recognition with countries with a similar program. Also, the AEO would include upgrading the security of the supply chain, while contributing to trade facilitation, and reforming and modernizing customs around the world to maintain or develop national competitiveness in international trade.
