STEM Education refers to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and works to support programs for teachers and students that encourage the growth and potential of learning in those four areas.  The goal of these programs is to bring the U.S. back to a level of competitiveness in these areas starting at the K-12 levels.  Organizations, such as the STEM Education Coalition, work with educational institutions and businesses to help develop these programs.
